These sugared cranberries shout Christmas festivities. The combination of tart and sweet makes them delicious, and they'll make your holiday desserts shine.
What are sugared cranberries? They are simply cranberries dipped in sugar syrup and coated in sugar. This easy recipe requires just a few simple ingredients and steps, yet it will elevate your holiday desserts to the next level.
Make sure the cranberries are thoroughly washed and, most importantly, completely dry, as any moisture will prevent the sugar from sticking.
In a medium saucepan, add sugar and water. Stir well until the sugar is fully dissolved, then bring the mixture to a medium heat. Once the syrup starts to boil, remove it from the heat immediately.
Add the washed and dried cranberries to the syrup. Gently stir with a spatula to ensure all the cranberries are well coated with the simple syrup.
Place the cranberries on a wire rack and let any excess syrup drain off.
Then, place the cranberries in a bowl with sugar. Stir well to coat them evenly with the sugar, and repeat the process until all the cranberries are covered.
